The Elephant House
During the winter of 2007, Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire commissioned the building of a progressive new home for the Park's heard of Asian elephants.
R.M.S were involved in painting the reinforced steel cages that would hold the animals. The job involved coating all the steel work with 2 coats of Hammerite over a metal primer.
"Although the cages themselves are reasonably spacious, the fact that we were using cherry pickers (self propelled boom lifts) for the high work meant that it was quite claustrophobic and required constant coordination from the ground via 2-way radios"
