This job in Alconbury Weston,
Cambridgeshire was particularly rewarding.
The house itself was a stunning new build,
but the paintwork was in a desperate condition
after only a very short period of time. After
two full days of preparation, we were ready to
apply the new paint system. Having seen the
problems with the original finish, I advised
the customer to go for a three-stage Sadolin
Woodshield process. This is an excellent
alternative to traditional gloss paint. It is self
priming so one needs just to ‘spot’ prime the
bare wood with the Sadolin and then give it
two full coats. It resists cracking, peeling and
flaking and is non- yellowing over time,
unlike traditional gloss systems.
“The finish we achieved was excellent and
the customer was delighted, which in turn
meant that I was delighted”
